We were supposed to be up North this weekend. But for a variety of reasons that fell through. I found myself looking at a glorious weekend with… nothing planned. What a freeing feeling. We spent Friday evening at Fiesta Fun. As we pulled in, Max got out of the car and said, “Thank you for taking me to this place Mommy!” It’s all about the little things. The kids each got three dollars to spend and they made it go as far as possible. (Max even got the 200 suitcase in Deal or No Deal). Josh then led negotiations for everyone to combine and save their tickets so they could eventually get the long board in the prize case. Maybe in ten years they will have 20,000 tickets. But for now, yay for no cheap crappy prizes!
Then we froze our buns off in the rain at Josh’s baseball game, until lightening ended it, and we headed home to cuddle for a movie night.
Saturday morning I let Justin sleep in…. and made breakfast and cleaned up. I had high hopes that we could get started on the built in bookshelves I have been wanting to make since we got rid of our entertainment center a couple of weeks ago. Now six hours into it we are just getting ready to start putting things together. Sometimes Math makes my head hurt…
Anna was an excellent painter helper,
Josh worked on some new kadama designs and Max very helpfully took an awesome nap.
Sunday morning was magical. Justin and I noticed our kids always seem to get along best on Sundays… we decided it’s because they know they can’t have any friends over to play so they better make the best of it..There were forts.
Lounging in the sun from the window.
And lots of legos. There was only one maybe two lego breakdowns… those things can be frustrating. Sometimes a weekend with just my favorite people is just what I need.
