Home. This is our first house and I want it to be a home; a place that reflects our family, a place of safety, order, learning, fun, and joy. Obviously, there are more aspects to this goal than appearance, but how our house looks affects how I feel, so ever so slowly I’ve been trying to make our house reflect our family.
I am a slow DIYer. I’m pretty slow at most things, too many interests, and I like to work on all of them simultaneously, a little here, a little there.
Which is why, four years after moving in, our toy room transformation is 99% complete.
Last April I sold our old $10 garage sale entertainment center and begged Justin to help me build one as an anniversary present. Around August we finished it up.
In September I went to the temple. The white walls spoke peace to my soul and so I went home and started painting. About 100 late nights later – and several you-tube videos on how to paint – it was done.Continue Reading
