Usually I don’t mind folding laundry by myself — putting it away that’s an entirely different story. Folding it… I don’t mind though. I can listen to a book, watch a show whatever. But when I have a huge pile of laundry and no choice but to fold with my little helpers this is what I do…
This is part of our pile and Anna’s blurry face – she is just excited I think.
This is Max’s face. He is most definitely not excited.
Then I tell them to close their eyes while I hide this..
in the pile. I just grab whatever loose change is on my desk and hide it in the laundry. I usually count it in advance so I can tell them, “there are 10/5/2 whatever coins hidden for each of you”. Then we go to work. The rules are you can’t move clothes around to find the coins you have to keep folding until you pick something up and wa la there is treasure hidden under it. Then sometimes I make them do the “I found treasure dance”. Max was even sold. His laundry skills are questionable so he was in charge of towels and underwear. He got great joy out of being the underwear man:)
And in no time we were to this.
and Anna’s blurry face again… no idea why she keeps coming out blurry today. Now if someone would just come put it away for me.
Note: This no longer works on Josh, unless he is really desperate to earn money for something. With him I just let him watch Pokemon… everyone has their price:)
I may or may not have let Max jump on the couch once when we were done….
