I took a 3 year blogging hiatus so I have some catching up to do…. Sometimes it will be stuff from the last 3 years and sometimes even farther back…. Justin and I both had some awkward years that should be documented….
Josh and actually all my kids love to dance. And as my friend Amber, used to say in high school, “Dancing is all about the facial expressions”. Think about it, if you have no sense of rhythm but your face is still feeling the music you might be able to pull it off… maybe. K now that I think about it, I’m glad no videos of me dancing exist. These pictures are from our going away party when we left Los Angeles.
Sometimes you feel the music best when your eyes are closed.
And you keep them closed…
Anna is getting in on the action.
Love them. Josh is currently in a hip hop class. Which he LOVES. He practices his moves all the time… and he still closes his eyes… and sticks out his tongue when he’s dancing.
Flashback to 3.5 years ago. I am pregnant with Max and we are spending the week at Huntington/Newport beach with my parents and little brother. It’s the US Open Surf Competition (which is so fun to watch) and so there is a free concert… on the beach… at 6ish in the evening… by Jimmy Eat World. We like their music and it’s FREE so we decide to walk up to the concert. So yes, me, a 6 month pregnant woman, my husband, 4 year old son, and 2 year old daughter went to a rock concert with the professional surfing crowd. It was kind of awesome. We stayed toward the back because umm we had little kids with us. We were just hanging out, enjoying the evening, and chatting with another lady who’d been crazy enough to bring her kids to the concert. Then Josh just starts feeling the music. He is going crazy dancing. His feet were moving like a whirlwind. It was awesome. Before we know it there is a circle of college age girls around him clapping and cheering him on. He is soaking it up and just keeps going. One of the girls even asks if she can give him a kiss on the cheek. He obliges slightly red faced. Not long after the circle broke up, we started smelling the cigarette and pot fumes coming from the rest of the audience and decide it’s time to take our kids home.
That was the same trip that Anna told me she had to go to the bathroom so I told her to just go sit in the ocean and go…. she didn’t have to go pee. That was also an awesome part of that vacation.
