Eleven years ago today I married this man. We are now to the point where we look at this picture and say…”We look so young!” Together forever was a tough decision for both of us to make. But once we FINALLY made it we never looked back. Now he is my best friend, my life.
Just for fun we were trying to remember what we did for each anniversary….
1st: This one was a doozy. We stayed in a hotel in Salt Lake. On the way there we backed into a hooker… then as we were walking around Justin recognizes a store… “Hey that’s where Lindsay (the girl he dated in high school for four years) got her tongue pierced!” Super romantic love.
2nd: We had just barely moved to LA. I was pregnant with Josh… and we ate steak using cardboard boxes for a table in our new apartment because we didn’t have an actual table yet.
3rd-5th – All happened in LA. I have no idea what we did. So sad. I know for one of them we went out to dinner, killed time until the kids would be asleep and then Justin let me get 27 dresses to watch. Still one of my favorite movies.
6th- Did an overnight swap with the Eavs. Shopping, beach, dinner and Avatar.
7th-9th- All in St. George. No specific memories… guess we should start an anniversary tradition…
10th – We went to Italy! Thanks to Mom and Dad. It wasn’t specifically for our anniversary but Justin had always promised me he’d take me for our tenth so it worked out beautifully.
11th – Ummm Justin is out of town today. He knows exactly when our anniversary is. It’s the last day in April. He just really really struggles remembering if there are 30 or 31 days in the month. Luckily we celebrated a couple of weeks ago. Mom watched the kids overnight while we… ran errands. Childless. It was awesome. We wandered around Home Depot dreaming of things we wanted to do on our house.
Justin was very excited to find an attachment for the vacuum, to better take care of his beloved car. Can’t you just see the excitement in his eyes. Then dinner at Benja’s (I really really love sushi..and Thai food) and Insurgent (I really really love this series). Makes me want to be selfless and brave. However if this book were real life Justin and I would have never met because he would have been Dauntless and I definitely would not have been… not that I ever imagine books are real life… who does that?
So thanks love for taking such good care of us, indulging me in all my crazy dreams, being such an amazing Daddy, and letting me be completely myself. My sister once sent me a quote that said, “There’s no one I’d rather lie in bed and look at my phone next to.” It applies to you.
I love this!! You two are such an amazing couple!! Happy Anniversary! I am glad we were able to be in Idaho with you on your wedding day 11 years ago! I still remember your dad trying to keep you apart after your wedding reception because it was the night BEFORE your wedding! 🙂
