This year we had a zombie, Raven Queen (from Ever After High) and, “American Hulk”. It took me awhile to determine if Max wanted to be Captain America or the Incredible Hulk, but we finally got it figured out.
When people asked Anna what she was she would say, “Raven,” They would continue to look at her, she would continue to stare at them, until I would finally jump in with, “from Ever After High.” If they continued to stare blankly, I would add, “it’s a TV show”. It never occurred to this sweet chica that not everyone loved this show as much as she did. This “American Hulk” could not stop scratching his face with his gloves, hence the lack of green on his mouth and nose. The first Halloween that a child realizes what’s going on it magical. He would run to me after every door yelling, “Mom! I got ______!” Pure joy shining from his face. That boy loves his candy. At one of the last houses I caught him kissing his candy before he put it in his bucket. This zombie would not break character for anything. It drove his Mom a little bit nuts.
Max and his buddy getting ready to watch the Halloween parade. Ahh look, maybe the zombie would break character a little, for a 3 year old brother. I see a slight smile there. And there it is again. Justin takes turn dressing up with the kids. (I hate dressing up with a passion). He was thrilled this year to dress up as Dexter (also from Ever After High.) He made his chica’s night. Our neighbor carves approximately 80 pumpkins every year. It is amazing. Max and her little boy are checking them all out.
We had to run over to great- grandma and grandpa Esplin’s to see all the cousins costumes and eat some pizza. They are so amazing to host every year. This year in addition to the regular 80 pumpkins our neighbors got a ginormous 500 pound one. You could only see legs sticking out the top when they were trying to get all the seeds out.
I didn’t see this boy for most of the night. He had a mission to knock on every house in the neighborhood…. and he accomplished it. Justin bought back the kids candy this year and Josh earned over $7 after pulling out his favorites. Compared to Anna’s $2.50 it was impressive.
